Event Schedule

11:00 AM – 12:15 PM – Burgers & hot dogs served

12:15 PM – Move to the range and begin competitions

What’s Happening:

Burgers & Bullets – Defensive Shooting Games

Join us for an afternoon of fun, food, and firearms training with five defensive shooting drills designed for both pistol and AR shooters.

First four events: $5 per event, per person - trophies for each winner per event.

Last two events: $20 per event per person – grand prize competitions.

Game 4: Winner earns a free USCCA tactical backpack ($80 value)

Game 5: Winner gets to shoot ballistic gel blocks with their EDC using both ball and defensive ammunition.

Gear Requirements

Pistol events: Concealed holster required (.45 ACP max caliber).

AR events: Sling required (5.56/.223 max caliber).

Eye and ear protection required for all shooters.

Youth Competition:

If we have enough youth attending we'll do .22 rifle skills competition. This will consist of loading the rifle on the line, with the instructor. Engaging two targets at an unknow distance. Rifle and ammo will be provided by Downrange & Dialogue. (Parent participation required)

Defensive Shooting Drills

All drills scored by fastest time with accurate hits.

Drill 1 – Pistol Draw & Fire

Firearm: Pistol (.45 ACP max)

Target: Paper silhouette

Starting Position: Pistol holstered, hands above waistline

Course of Fire: On signal, draw and fire 1 round in chest at 7 yards.

Round Count: 1 round pistol

Entry Fee: $5 

 

Drill 2 – Pistol Controlled Pair + Reload

Firearm: Pistol (.45 ACP max)

Target: Paper silhouette

Starting Position: Pistol holstered, hands above waistline

Course of Fire: On signal, fire 2 rounds, reload, then fire 2 more rounds at 7 yards.

Round Count: 4 rounds pistol

Entry Fee: $5 

 

Drill 3 – Pistol Movement To Cover

Firearm: Pistol (.45 ACP max)

Target: Paper silhouette

Starting Position: Hands above waistline

Course of Fire: On signal, move to cover, fire 6 rounds on target, move to a secondary position, reload, 6 more rounds on second target

Round Count: 12 rounds

Entry Fee: $5 

 

Grand Prize Event – Pistol Reload Behind Cover

Firearm: Pistol (.45 ACP max)

Target: Paper silhouette

Starting Position: Hands above waistline

Course of Fire: On signal, MOVE to cover. Unknow distance 4 rounds on one target, MOVE to a second cover location, engage second target with 4 rounds unknown distance. EASY RIGHT?

Round Count: 8 rounds pistol

Entry Fee: $20

Prize: Winner gets to shoot ballistic gel blocks with your EDC using different types of self-defense ammunition (9 mm ammunition provided for demonstration).

 

Drill 4 – AR Transition

Firearm: AR platform (open caliber)

Target: Paper silhouette

Starting Position: Hands free, rifle hanging

Course of Fire: On signal, fire 4 rounds, perform a mag change, then fire 4 more rounds at 10 yards.

Round Count: 8 rounds rifle

Entry Fee: $5 

 

Grand Prize - AR Failure Drill

Firearm: AR platform (open caliber)

Target: Paper silhouette

Starting Position: low ready

Course of Fire: On signal, fire 2 rounds to the chest and 1 round to the head at 15 yards.

Round Count: 3 rounds rifle
